What it costs

Year one, per share
£3,462The monthly fee is expected to start in December 2026. The figure used for comparison still counts a full year of fees.
A year, per share
£2,479For comparison. The upfront buys a share that lasts beyond year one, so it is spread over an assumed three-year racing life.
Per 1% of the horse
£992The figure that makes offers comparable. A £54 share and a £5,000 share are not alike until you divide by how much of the horse each one buys.
Share size
2.5% each, 1 of 40 shares
Insurance
The horses are not insured (no mortality insurance); insurance may be put to an owners' vote if a horse becomes highly valuable

Read the operator's full written terms — we compare what is in them, but the document is theirs and you should read it.

If the horse's career ends

Aftercare
Part of each share's price goes to the horse's post-racing pension fund; Santorini Thoroughbreds decides whether to retire, sell or re-home, and a horse thought to have no value is transferred to a rehabilitation centre or new owner; it supports Retraining of Racehorses with a guaranteed £5,000 a year
